Pinner will be the third Oskar Blues beer available in a stovepipe can, following the brewery's flagship Dale's Pale Ale and its pilsner offering, Mama's Little Yella Pils. PINNER will join the mixed-pack, CANundrum, in February for national distribution, making that a hotbox of Oskar Blues beers. After the successful launch of the brewery's Pinner, a self-styled 'Throwback IPA,' Oskar Blues has announced the Session IPA will be available in 19.2 ounce single-serve stovepipe cans. PINNER will be brewed in both home states of ColoRADo and North Carolina and initially distributed just in Oskar Blues’ backyards. Pinner was added to the Oskar Blues CANundrum mix 12- pack, which contains three cans each of Pinner Throwback IPA, Dale’s Pale Ale, Mama’s Little.

The challenge for Oskar Blues was to make a hoppy, low-alcohol 'session' beer that wasn't a 'watered down Dale's Pale Ale,' says Oskar Blues spokesman Chad Melis. Pinner Throwback IPA was a big hit with craft beer fans when it was launched in 2015, quickly climbing the charts to become Oskar Blues 2 nd best- selling brand, right after Dale’s Pale Ale. “Many things contribute to flavor in beer, and with Pinner it’s a focus on hops and malt–with a considerable nod to the hops,” says Oskar Blues ColoRADo head brewer Tim Matthews. To put it bluntly, PINNER will be the lowest year-round ABV beer to blaze out of Oskar Blues’ brewhouses.
Coming in at 4.9 percent ABV and 35 IBUs, this primo dry-hopped brew will be easy to throw back. PINNER will be released first in Oskar Blues’ home states of ColoRADo and North Carolina in mid-December. Oskar Blues is adding PINNER Throwback IPA to the brewery’s year-round lineup of beers in 12-ounce CANs and on draft.
